BEACH GARDEN NOTICE: Non-indigenous plants were removed from existing beach gardens by March 1, 2008!!  .  We will be replacing non indigenous  or non-native plants with indigenous or native plants. We honoured the beauty and joy the roses and other non-native plants added to our beach.  Their removal was under protest but was done with dignity for the plants and for all those who nurtured and cared for them as a community.   Any remaining non-indigenous plants and new gardens will be removed by Metro Vancouver staff and composted.  Please feel free to replant with native plants as listed elsewhere on this website.  Thank you in advance for helping preserve our sense of beach community.
